Dr. Brian Ivory started the Mott Campus Clowns troupe in 2011 to share his love and passion for clowning with students and spread positive messages through their performances. Dr. Ivory shared his personal story of getting hooked when he volunteered to be a clown for a Special Olympics event. That led to his intensive training at Clown College, a 13-week camp that accepted only 50 applicants each year.
Dr. Bubby, President Nick (post-pie), Dandi Lion, and Binks
Troupe members, “Dandi Lion” and “Binks”, joined “Dr. Bubby” (AKA Dr. Ivory) to demonstrate several of the routines that are part of their award-winning anti-bullying magic show titled: “Turning Frowns Upside Down One S-M-I-L-E at a Time.” Mott Community College honors students, like Dandi Lion and Binks, are enrolled in the service-learning course, HONS 252: Social Diversity & Civic Engagement Lab, and are trained to serve in the community as clowns. They perform 30-35 hours of required community service travelling to schools and service clubs throughout Michigan spreading cheer while teaching the 5 Action Steps of anti-bullying. All performances end with an anti-bullying pledge.

The final routine ended with President Nick taking a pie in the face for the club, demonstrating his leadership and true commitment to building goodwill and better friendships!

Passover and Easter
Today is Passover, the Jewish holiday that marks the journey of the Israelites out of bondage in Egypt. The Passover Seder is a special meal where the story of the Exodus is retold alongside eating special foods that allow participants to experience a version of the Exodus for themselves. The story unfolds over a series of 15 steps, and the foods represent the bitterness of enslavement to the sweetness of freedom.
We are also in the middle of Holy Week, observed by Christians. It started with Palm Sunday a few days ago (which commemorates Jesus' triumphant return to Jerusalem) and culminates with Good Friday (the day of crucifixion) and Easter Sunday (the day Christians believe Jesus rose from the dead).

Brian Sanderson shared the new Flint Rotary website which was recently updated. Brian worked with a firm in Canada that was supported with a District 6330 grant. He demonstrated some of the new features which showcase Rotarians in action on the new landing page carousel. The “Becoming a Member” section has been updated and you can now check to see if you have signed up for meeting responsibilities by checking the “Events” section.
Brian made two requests: 1 – everyone, please send him photos of all Rotary activities, and 2 - committee chairs, please look at the information in your related website section and the resources area of the site and send Brian updated content.
