A New Rotary Year
We start the new Rotary year with a new Rotary International President: Olayinka Babalola, who hails from Nigeria. He chose the theme "Create Lasting Impact" to guide our work this year. Check out this brief video to learn more about what that means to him-- and for us as Rotarians.

July is Disability Pride Month

July is Disability Pride Month, which commemorates the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act by President George H.W. Bush on July 26, 1990. It was first celebrated as a month dedicated to recognizing people with disabilities, their culture, and contributions in July 2015 upon the 25th anniversary of the Act’s signing.

Disability Pride Month is also intended to recognize that disability is part of the natural variation of life and not something to be shunned or stigmatized. It also acknowledges that people with disabilities still face barriers to full access and participation in parts of society.

This year's local Americans with Disabilities Act annual celebration will take place on Friday, July 24 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Gloria Cole's Flint Public Library and is hosted by the Disability Network.

Its's Time to Renew your Rotary Membership

Last month, Club Bookkeeper Amy van der Putte emailed a copy of the 2026-27 Rotary Membership Renewal form. Please fill it out and return it to her as soon as you are able-- you can either fill it out on the computer and email it to her, or complete a hard copy. If you need help, please contact Amy.

The membership form is also available to download from our Club website here:

Crim Volunteer Registration

District 7 clubs will once again be staffing the water station and intersections along our section of the Crim Festival of Races on Saturday, August 22. We are getting an early start on recruitment-- please sign up to volunteer! It starts with a fabulous breakfast at Mike Chaffee's at 6 am and you will be done before noon. It's a great way to be part of one of Flint's premiere events as you enjoy some Rotarian fellowship.
