The club began with 23 charter members in 1916, and now numbers 96 men and women representing the business, professional and organizational leadership of the community.
We hold bi-monthly lunch meetings on the second and fourth Friday of the month, sponsor a Service Friday in partnership with the Gloria Coles Flint Public Library on the first Friday of the month, and host a third Thursday after-hours social gathering at a Flint-area restaurant.
Additionally, club members engage in community service projects throughout the community, including labeling storm drains, building beds for children in need, Flint River Watershed clean up, library book giveaways, and more.
Rotary's vision statement sums up what we are all about:
Together, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change — across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.
We Rotary is an international service organization made up of business and professional leaders interested in the welfare of their local community and the world. Rotary is the largest international volunteer service organization in the world with 1.2 million members.
The Rotary Club of Flint is one of eight clubs in Genesee County.
